Editorial Standards
This page sets out the editorial standards that govern every review, comparison, and guide on DesiSexGram. We publish these standards so that readers, platform operators, and regulators can hold us accountable to them.
Our editorial mission
To help adults make safer, smarter, more informed choices about adult platforms — through honest reviews, transparent comparisons, and practical privacy guidance — with particular relevance to South Asian audiences worldwide.
Our editorial commitments
- Independence. We are not owned by, financially dependent on, or editorially controlled by any platform we review.
- Transparency. Every affiliate relationship is disclosed at the top of any review that benefits from it, and site-wide on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
- Honesty. Negative findings are published — even when the platform is an affiliate partner. We do not accept payment in exchange for removing negative review content.
- Verification. Every platform we review is evaluated by our editorial team, not based on press releases or marketing copy.
- Respect for consent. We refuse to review or promote any platform whose business model relies on non-consensual content, copied media, or content involving minors.
How we review platforms
Every review uses our five-pillar scoring framework:
| Pillar | What we evaluate |
|---|---|
| Privacy | Billing discretion, profile privacy controls, data retention, deletion rights, encryption. |
| Safety | Moderation quality, scam prevention, reporting tools, content / age verification, response to abuse. |
| Value | Real cost per month, free vs paid features, transparency of upsells, cancellation process, refund policy. |
| User experience | Interface, mobile experience, account management, customer support responsiveness. |
| Regional access | Availability and payment support across South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal) and diaspora regions (UK, US, Canada, Gulf, Germany, Australia). |
Each pillar contributes to the overall score. Final scores are expressed on a 0–10 scale, displayed prominently at the top of the review.
What we will not review
We do not list, link to, or review platforms that:
- Host non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII)
- Distribute or fail to police copied / pirated content
- Allow content involving anyone under 18
- Use deceptive billing practices (e.g. hidden recurring charges with no cancellation)
- Have no functional age verification under applicable law
- Are evidently shell platforms or scams
- Are subject to regulatory action for illegal practices
This list is updated as we encounter new patterns. Any platform that develops these issues after we have reviewed it will be removed.
How affiliate relationships work in practice
- We only join affiliate programs of platforms we would recommend on editorial merit alone
- Joining an affiliate program does not change the score we have already published
- If our evaluation worsens — for example because the platform deteriorates — we update the review or remove the listing, even if it means losing affiliate income
- If a platform offers higher commission for a positive review, we decline the higher commission and document the offer
How we handle corrections
If we publish something inaccurate, we correct it transparently. Substantive corrections are noted at the bottom of the review with the date of the change. We do not silently rewrite reviews.
How we handle complaints from platforms
Platforms may contact us with corrections, additional information, or formal complaints. We assess each on its merits:
- Factual corrections — addressed quickly with an updated review and a correction note
- Disagreements on opinion — we will hear them, but we will not change an editorial position unless we are convinced it was wrong
- Legal threats — we do not yield to threats. Where there is a genuine legal issue, we engage through proper legal channels, not pressure tactics
How we handle user feedback
Readers can email us with corrections, suggestions, or concerns about any review. We read everything and respond where possible. Feedback that points out factual errors is particularly valuable.
Reviewer identity
Reviews are produced by the DesiSexGram editorial team. Given the sensitive nature of the niche and the personal-safety concerns of reviewers covering adult platforms, individual reviewer names are not always disclosed. This is consistent with editorial practice at many other publications covering sensitive topics. Editorial accountability rests with the Site operator.
Use of AI in editorial work
We may use AI tools as drafting assistants — for outlines, fact-checking starting points, or structural suggestions — but every published piece is reviewed, edited, and signed off by a human editor before publication. We do not auto-publish AI-generated reviews.
Frequency of review updates
Pricing and feature information for adult platforms changes regularly. We aim to revisit every published review at least every 6 months. The “Last updated” date on each review reflects the most recent revision.
